Providing individuals, the chance to be seen and heard is something very important to me.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology as well as my Masters of Counselling Psychology.
I am also very passionate about music and have 10 years of experience with musical training. I like to implement the use of music in counselling sessions to allow individuals to explore their emotions, feelings and memories through song and provide a unique connection within themselves. I also like to utilize mindfulness modalities, person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and use humanistic approaches to allow the client to move throughout the session with individualism, independence and applying their own uniqueness.
I have experience working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, personality disorders, relationships and life stressors and experience with working with Military populations and Indigenous cultures.
“Music imprints itself on the brain deeper than any other human experience. Music evokes emotion and emotion can bring with it memory. Music brings back the feeling of life when nothing else can.” – Dr. Oliver Sacks
