Justine

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Licensed Counselling Therapist (candidate) with the College of Counselling Therapists of New-Brunswick. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology as well as a Masters degree in Counselling.

I currently reside in Ontario and offer telehealth services. At Marcescence Counselling Inc. (MCI), I work in collaboration with the primary practitioners by helping with client intakes, evaluations, assessments, and reports. I also provide individual therapy services (to children 10+ and adults) tailored to your individual needs using the following modalities: mindfulness, person-centered therapy, emotion focused therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I view my role as a guide, helping you along your own personal wellness journey. I am trained in trauma-informed care and I have over 3 years of experience serving veterans, active military members, as well as civilians, presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns.

The psychotherapeutic issues I am most familiar with are PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, sleep/insomnia, stress, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I also have an interest in maternal and child mental health and I hope to help clients with this as well. My practice is informed by the polyvagal theory and the importance of calming and regulating the nervous system prior to engaging in more cognitive types of therapy where processing and having access to higher functioning areas of the brain are needed!
